Privacy Policy

The main point here is that the creator/admin of PaEMT.org isn't trying to track, fingerprint, nor profile any users, or devices. However, the forum software does collect some information such as IP addresses.

The philosophy of the PaEMT.org forum administrator is that you should be able to use the forum and choose if you want to remain anonymous or you want to identify yourself. However, there are technical limitations to being able to achieve this. Also, you shouldn't believe this policy. Rather, you should take an active role in maintaining your privacy with methods such as using ad blockers and consider when to use Tor.

Any data you enter into the forum is collected. (Just stating the obvious here. If you type something into the forum, it's collected. That is the primary purpose of a forum, after all. Whatever you put in your profile is "collected." Otherwise it wouldn't be on your profile.)

IP addresses are logged. (Use Tor to anonymize your IP address. torproject.org)

You don't have to use your real name.

If you create an account the following are collected, recorded, and/or logged: Username, Display name, Email address, IP address, Last Online, Posts. Creating an account and having some on-site tracking, or logging, is what allows you to see which posts you have already read and which posts you have not read. Without some tracking or logging this wouldn't be possible to show you. Every post would look the same regardless of read or unread. That is a less useful user experience.

To the knowledge of the administrator of this site and forum there is no sophisticated tracking, no cross-site tracking, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks, no tracking networks, no device fingerprinting, no user profiling occuring on the site or the forum. But rather than take my word for it, you can defend yourself against these things by using free (GNU) software, use ad blockers (uBlock Origin), and consider when to use Tor (torproject.org).
